Champions Area is an upscale development located off FM 1960 about 20 miles northwest of downtown Houston in northwestern Harris County.

Homes in the area were constructed in the unincorporated community by the early 1970s. In 1972, the Champions Area established its volunteer fire department.

Large subdivisions in the vicinity of Cypress Creek had country clubs and golf courses in the 1980s.
