Green Tee Terrace History
The Green Tee Terrace dates back to the Karankawa Indians, who occupied the area in the 14th century. The tribe inhabited the area because of the water source and access to plenty of food and trees for shelter.
In the 18th century, cowboys with their horses and cattle occupied the 468-acre plot of land. The water sources, the grazing area for cattle, and ample living space in the Green Tee draw the cowboys to occupy the land.
In 1969, The Green Tee Terrace Development Company purchased and developed the 468-acre Drake Ranch. The company even convinced the Golfcrest Country Club to move from its previous location.
Development began in 1970, and by 1972, The Green Tee Terrace became the talk of the town. The neighborhood is still known as the up-scale and family-friendly neighborhood in Pearland.
