“We definitely recommend the Houston Properties Team. We were relocating to Houston from Dallas. We figure it would be difficult to look for homes being out of town; however our realtor, Brittney Coyle, made it an easy process. She was flexible and learned our style quickly. Through video chats, she would walk us through the homes like we were there, pointing out details of the homes. Brittney was very knowledgeable on the neighborhoods we were looking at. Brittney was patient and responsive when we had questions. Brittney’s service did not end when the sale was completed. After closing on our home, she has provided recommendations for move in service, helped us get quotes for cleaners, and assist with setting up our water. It has been a delight to work Brittney. We highly recommend Brittney and will continue to use her in the future!” - Gee Dee (Google Review)

Hitchcock TX History
Hitchcock is a town in Galveston County, Texas, located about 40 miles southeast of Houston. It was established as a railroad station between Galveston and Houston in 1873. At that time, farming, especially rice cultivation, was the main economic activity. Farmers would transport their cattle and vegetables by train to other parts of Texas.
In the early 20th century, oil and gas were discovered in Hitchcock. It brought new jobs and prosperity to the town. Hitchcock continued to grow, with a post office established in 1884 and a school in 1894. By 1914, Hitchcock had a bank, hotel, blacksmith shop, and numerous stores.
The construction of the nearby Texas City port further enhanced Hitchcock's importance as a transportation and business hub. However, the farming industry declined in the 1920s and 1930s due to insect infestations and other challenges.
During World War II, Hitchcock experienced a revival with the establishment of Camp Wallace by the U.S. military. The military bases brought a significant number of people and economic activity to the town. Although the bases closed after the war, many former soldiers decided to make Hitchcock their permanent home. The town became a city in 1960, leading to further growth and development.
Today, Hitchcock has a diverse economy that includes farming, oil and gas industries, and tourism. The town is known for its well-preserved historical buildings and landmarks. It offers residents a unique combination of small-town charm and access to urban amenities.
