Grand Harbor TX History

Grand Harbor is by the southwestern shore of Lake Conroe. The lake reservoir is created in the early 1970s.

Grand Harbor's roots reach back to the early 20th century when the area was used for agriculture.

In the 1950s, Humble Oil began to buy up land on Lake Conroe including the area that would become Grand Harbor. The company had plans to build a massive lakefront resort, complete with a golf course and marina.

The company scrapped the plans in the end. But the creation of Lake Conroe brought opportunities for growth and development.

Grand Harbor became a popular location for vacation homes and retirement communities. The area's natural beauty and proximity to Houston made it an attractive destination.

In the 1990s, Grand Harbor experienced another wave of development. More people moved in and made a bustling community in the area.

Grand Harbor is now a thriving community with residents and vacation homeowners. It has beautiful homes, excellent recreational opportunities, and stunning views of Lake Conroe.
