“We are so happy and consider ourselves very fortunate to have Danielle Wojcik of the Houston Properties Team as our realtor. We had a rental property which was on the market for over six months without success. Once Danielle took over. She helped us to sell that property in less than two weeks. We also engaged Danielle as our agent for our new home purchase. She worked tirelessly and diligently to provide market evaluation, review contract and construction schedule, attend meetings for various construction activities, arrange inspections, and detailed work through. She is such a nice lady to work with and we always know she is ready to help with any house related activities, including: moving, inspections...etc.” - PT Zaogoog (Google Review)

Memorial Bend TX History

Memorial Bend, one of the older neighborhoods in Memorial, has a charming history.

During the 1930s, dense woodlands, stables, and timber mills made up Memorial. A few other ranch homes occupy larger lots.

In the 1950s and 1960s, Houston experienced a housing boom that led to its expansion beyond the Loop. The completion of I-10 prompted developers to focus on the western region. They built upper-middle-class subdivisions along the Buffalo Bayou.

In 1955, Howard Edmunds and Robert Puig acquired a 200-acre plot off Memorial Drive. They collaborated with three investors to finance the project. Then, they established the Memorial Bend Development Company. Architect William Norman Floyd was among the investors. He shaped Houston's residential aesthetics from the 1940s to the late 1960s.

Other than Floyd's creations, buyers can find homes designed by William R. Jenkins. Harwood Taylor, Lars Bang, and Brooks & Brooks have designed homes in the neighborhood.

Most of the original ranch-style and traditional homes remain today. This character set Memorial Bend from other postwar subdivisions in the area.
