Seabrook W. Sydnor purchased a piece of the land in 1895. Filing of the title dated the following year to the Harris County Courthouse.
The Seabrook Company of Houston submitted a revised plan for the planned Seabrook townsite in March 1903. This attracted local farmers, fishermen, and business owners. Local authorities had the city established a while later, in 1961.
A bridge between Kemah and Seabrook had constructed in 1964, shortly after the city's founding. The roadway and bridge made it simple to reach Seabrook along Galveston Bay. The small community then experienced rapid growth.
