“Providing excellent service, Houston Properties helped us buy and sell a Houston Heights home we owned for 13 years. Paige Martin helped us find the home and Shannon Poindexter helped us sell it. Between purchase and sale Houston Properties maintained contact with us, providing recommendations regarding contractors, assistance relating to tax appraisals, and relevant information about the Houston real estate market. Prior to the sale, we received advice when to put the house on the market, information needed to properly set the listing price, beautiful staging (thanks Stephanie!), and comprehensive marketing. Shannon took us through the process step-by-step, provided guidance to help us respond to buyers' requests, and always was so reassuring. Any time we had questions or needed clarification prompt responses were received, greatly relieving the stress we felt. Houston Properties worked hard for us and earned its commission. We are so happy with the job done by Shannon and her team. Thank you so much!” - Peter Hans (Google Review)

Shoreacres/La Porte TX History
The history of Shoreacres subdivision in La Porte can be traced back to the early 1950s. At the time, the area was undeveloped. In 1952, a group of developers purchased the land and began planning a new subdivision. The name Shoreacres came from the beautiful views of the Gulf Coast that could be seen from the property.
The first homes in Shoreacres were built in 1953. The subdivision was designed to be a quiet community. The developers took steps to ensure that it would remain that way. They imposed strict rules and regulations on the homeowners association (HOA). This included requirements for things like home size, landscaping, and exterior paint colors.
Shoreacres became a popular destination for families. The schools in the area were rated above average. There were also many parks and playgrounds for children to enjoy. The subdivision was also located close to the beach, so families could enjoy swimming, fishing, and boating.
The subdivision continued to grow in the 1960s and 1970s. By the end of the 1970s, there were about 200 homes in Shoreacres. The subdivision has remained unchanged since then, and it remains popular today.
