Summer Lakes TX History
The place of what would be known as Rosenberg was first settled around 1823. Then known as Mudtown, it was named after Henry von Rosenberg, the first president of the Gulf, Colorado, and Santa Fe Railroads.
The city grew and was eventually incorporated in 1902, with the population gradually growing over time. By 1990, the area of what is Summer Lakes was incorporated into Rosenberg in 1990.
Summer Lakes began to grow into what it is today, with traditional and modern houses. It has since established itself as one of Rosenberg and Houston metro’s rising communities.
