Summerwood TX History
The Houston-based McCord Development, which developed the nearby Generation Park, constructed the 1,500-acre master-planned community in 1995. In June 2000, Newland Communities purchased Summerwood and built approximately 200 houses. Newland completed the project.
The initial home construction prices were between $100,000 and $235,000. Since then, as the population grows in the area, retailers have also expanded.
