Towne Lake TX History

Towne Lake is under a larger neighborhood, Cypress. In the 1980s, Cypress, the rural area, was developed and transformed into one of the largest suburban communities in Houston.

The first settlers in the area were the Atakapa and Akokisa Indian tribes. Soon after, in the 1840s, they disappeared due to European settlers appearing in the area.

Caldwell Companies developed Towne Lake in phases and soon opened in 2007.
