Brookshire TX History

Brookshire has an interesting history that goes all the way back to the mid-1800s. At first, it was called "Mound City," but in 1893, they changed the name to Brookshire to honor a local farmer who fought in the Civil War.

Even though there were some tough times, like a big fire in 1918, Brookshire didn't give up. They rebuilt everything and kept growing. In the 1960s, they built a highway called Interstate 10, which made it easier to get to Brookshire and helped the economy grow.

Nowadays, Brookshire is a great place to live because it has a small-town feel, but it's also growing with more people and different kinds of businesses.
