Brookshire Schools are zoned to Royal Independent School District.
Royal Independent School District (RISD) was formed in January 1959 as the Pattison-Brookshire Consolidated Independent School District. The district adopted its current name in February 1960, as decided by the Board of Trustees.

Brookshire TX History
Brookshire has an interesting history that goes all the way back to the mid-1800s. At first, it was called "Mound City," but in 1893, they changed the name to Brookshire to honor a local farmer who fought in the Civil War.
Even though there were some tough times, like a big fire in 1918, Brookshire didn't give up. They rebuilt everything and kept growing. In the 1960s, they built a highway called Interstate 10, which made it easier to get to Brookshire and helped the economy grow.
