Spring Northeast TX History
The history of Spring Northeast is related to the larger Spring East area. Spring East is a census-designated place (CDP) in the Greater Houston Area.
The natives from Orcoquiza Tribes were the inhabitants of Spring East. A temporary government assigned the town under Harrisburg in 1836.
Years later, German immigrants moved to the area and developed farming. After the US Civil War, the next batch of settlers came. The money crops were sugar cane and cotton.
In 1871, a railroad opened and helped the town grow.
Spring became a switchyard in the 1900s. A roundhouse helped the population rise by attracting people from Houston. In the present, Spring Northeast is a suburb that grew from East Spring.
