Tealwood residents enjoy its excellent features, including:

Tealwood real estate can be tricky to navigate due to a number of factors. The list includes older homes (some will need renovations), proximity to busy roads, and limited inventories. Very few Tealwood homes for sale are put up on the market every year. It is beneficial for homebuyers to find a Realtor who knows the area.

“Five star rating hands down!!! I've used Houston properties on 4 different deals. Each one had its own unique set of challenges and our team of Brad Evans & Laura Banda were great at every turn. Not only did they help us find properties, but they helped us think about creative ways to negotiate the financial side of things, define our financial goals, and to maximize proceeds & reduce purchase price. It was impressive on how aligned Brad & Laura were so we did not get mixed messages or wires crossed. One of the most important things that they brought to the table was to help us navigate the emotional side of selling and buying. Their approach, choice of words, consideration for us as people and not just a customer was very impressive and appreciated. The people side of the equation is often a "miss" during the process and Brad & Laura hit a home run on every deal. I will definitely use them the next time I have a need. I also had the pleasure of meeting some of the other team members that were also top-notch. I highly recommend Houston Properties Team (and a big shout-out to Brad & Laura)!!!” - Eric Stetenfeld (Google Review)

Tealwood TX History

Before Tealwood’s development during the 1960s, the Memorial area was primarily rural. It featured a few timber mills, farms, and homes scattered throughout the vast and verdant areas around the Buffalo Bayou. Post-WWII saw a housing boom in Houston, and development moved west.

Subdivisions like Tealwood broke ground during this period. Today, homes in Memorial are among the most coveted in the state.

Tealwood’s homes were mostly built from the 1960s to the early 1980s. The neighborhood has an active homeowners association.

The neighborhood’s duck logo first appeared in Tealwood’s newsletter in 1991. Later, Bob Longmire redesigned the logo to reflect Tealwood’s three sections. The “three duck overlapping logo” adorns the neighborhood’s sign, website, and newsletter.

Some of Houston’s best shopping centers are within minutes of the neighborhood. These include Memorial City Mall, Town & Country Village, and the City Centre Plaza.

Located some blocks north of Tealwood, the Memorial City Mall is one of the older shopping centers in the area. It opened in the 1960s and was renovated in the early 2000s. The mall has over 100 stores, restaurants, and commercial establishments. Some of its major stores are Macy’s, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Target, and Sears.
